# Account settings: name, email, and sign-out

> Manage your Dear account: update your display name, sign out of your current session, or permanently delete your account and all associated data.

Account settings live at `/account/settings`. From here you can update how you appear in Dear, sign out of your current session, or permanently delete your account.

## Profile

### Full name

Your full name is how you appear inside Dear. To change it, edit the **Full name** field and save.

To save your changes:

* Press **Cmd+S** (Mac) or **Ctrl+S** (Windows/Linux), or
* Click the **Save changes** button in the footer

If you want to undo edits before saving, click **Discard**.

The footer shows when your changes were last saved.

### Email

Your email address is read-only. It reflects the address tied to your account and cannot be changed from this page.

## Danger zone

### Sign out

**Sign out** ends your session on this device. You can sign back in at any time.

### Delete account

**Delete account** permanently removes your account. This cannot be undone and your work cannot be recovered.

  Account deletion is permanent. Dear cannot recover your documents after your account is deleted.

## Without account sync

If account sync is not available in your version of Dear, profile fields are read-only and changes cannot be saved. The page will show a notice indicating that profile edits are disabled.
